ok Replaced starter solenoid , brain , coil , dist , dist shaft , I get power to and from coil but no spark any ideas what I may have missed? its a 76 dj5 258

I would re check the distributor pick up connections. The distributor pickup is what gives the ignition module the reference points on when to fire up the ignition coil to the cylinders. Not much parts and or pieces there to make it complicated however, a failure of one wire could mean the failure of the entire ignition system.

On my 91 yj 2.5 l.I had a heck of a time to get it to run.I was getting fire to the distributor, had everything in line according to the book, but still wouldnt start. Finally took it to the dealership,a couple of hours later the dealership calls me up and says they got a problem, they couldnt get it to run.
Confrenced with the mechanic, and he agreed I had everything put togeather correctly. He played around with it for anouther hour, and got it running.
The problem in my case was that the spark was hitting on the very end of the rotor, and not in the middle.so it might be a case of putting the book aside and play with the distributor. My distributor was the stationary type,if yoursw is like that, try adjusting the distributor a notch or 2 in either direction, and not go by the book.

Did you check the resistance of the two windings in the coil?
