stalling at stops

I've got a '92 XJ 4.0l 5sp that has a tendancy to stall when coming to a stop. It only stalls when it's warmed up, and not all the time. It's been to two different shops and neither one could figure out what's wrong with it, one of them saying they couldn't get it to stall at all. It doesn't seem to stall very often when the gas tank is full either. Faulty fuel pump or ?[addsig]

I had the same problem with my 91 wrangler recently. Try filling the tank and put
some good fuel injection cleaner in it, run the rpm"s a little higher than you normally do, when the tank gets down to 1/2 do it again. Try this a few times.
Hope it works for you as it did for me. :-D [addsig]

When it stalls is it like someone has turned off the ignition switch (suddenly stops), or does it kind of stumble and die out?

I had that problem. It was strange but I changed my fuel filter and it never happened again. I think maybe it was gunked up just enough to when you let off the throttle it locked the line up. But it seems as though a shop would've checked that.
