Ok...so sometimes not really specific times when it does it, and it has really onlt happened like three times my Jeep wants to "sputter"? What i mean is that it looses its power and kinda skips I guess you could say? One time it did it when i was just easing down a dirt road and slowed down for some pot holes, and when i went to accellerate it just started sputtering for just a second there? Another time it done it i had just crunk it up after working all day, took off and it sputtered for a sec then went about its business. What possibilities could this be?

start with a basic tune up as this could be as simple as a dirty air filter or weak spark plug.

I have a 95 yj as well, mine has been back firing at high rpm and doing the same sputtering so to speak. Normal driving ok, I was told it may be a fuel issue with the pressure. A good note to go by is if it is an intermitent thing ( comes and goes) its usually electrical, and if its running like crap all the time its usually mechanical (internal parts). Hope this helps. Im still stuck on fixing mine to this day.
Changed all spark plugs and set the gap to .035. Used Champion double platinum plugs they are working really well so far! Found that the distributor cap had been over tightened causing it to crack on one side.......this could have been the problem i suppose? Replaced it along with the rotor button and new wires! No sputter so far this could have been the attention the Jeep was needing! Thanks for all the advice guys!
