My clock died!!!

Well I finally put the shocks on today, along with the new tires. I got a bunch of guys at work to help me. Acually they were dying to see it with the meats on too... so here are some pics as I promised. I took the fork lift to the rear tire to see how it flexed... the guy in the first pic is a guy I work with trying to look "small" behind the tires.

I'm just waiting for tom woods to mail me my driveshaft and quadratec to send me my steering stabilizer.

Acually I didn't even measure the new height yet, actually I don't even know the stock height of a YJ with "28s"... does anyone know that info? Then I will go measure the new height. But it won't stay that way for long, shackles are next.

Looks great! Those look like the perfect sized tires for that height.

state lift laws?

Yeah I'm happy with those tires. The offset is perfect too. I wasn't sure if the 14.5 inch tires were going to rub on the springs... they dont! still have an inch left. Plus they are better than these!

Help... still post-lift vibration

Lookin' good mang!

new alternator?

Looks awesome! I love those tires.
I don't think your gonna clear though. To clear 36s on my wrangler, it took 4"susp,3"body,and 1" shackle. That cleared with the front anti-sway bar hooked up. Disconnected, it hit everywhere. TJ flares would look nice and provide alot more clearance to go along with those new shackles. Just a suggestion

Well everything is clearing so far, I thought I would be rubbing on the springs when I'm turning but nope. Maybe it will later but the offset on these wheels are kicked alot. I plan on getting a telescoping front track bar and some discos, maybe it will hit then... but that means I'll just start takin crap off. I was actually planning on either putting TJ fenders on it, or goin for the flat fendered look.

XJ AND GRAND CHEROKEE COMPARISON

Looks sweet. Definately flatty the front and put TJ flares in the back. You'll get a lot more room without having to raise the center of gravity even more.

Go to the latest poll about CJ or YJ's. There is a picture of my Jeep on page 3. I have TJ flares and the front fenders almost cut flat. You can pretty well see how it was done. It does give you a lot more tire clearance. The front requires a lot more cutting of the flares and fender to get rid of that sidemarker light on the flare. Those are 38.5's in the picture and it currently has 39.5" Boggers with no rubbing on the body.

thats nice redrooster, I like your rollbar too. Two projects I would love to do... among many though.

Looks sweet! Hard work pays off! One thing you need to keep in mind regarding flex and the way the picture looks, he has 36" tires. the amount of space under the tire is probably more then it looks cause of it's size. (optical illusion of sorts) TJ flares on the rear and front, but go with the flat fender look and cut both (not sure of the laws in NY) but in mass your tire tread can only be 1" outside the fender.

re

That's unfortunate. My tires are probably 11" outside of the fenders. I passed a sheriff yesterday and thought he would get me for not having the windshield on. He just waved. They like us around here.

Who me?
Mine are 2.5" Off Road Connection springs for a Wrangler. They flex good and have many leaves. The more the merrier.
