Smart People Drink More Alcohol

Finally, a study that I can fully endorse:
Smarter people drink more, study says

More intelligent children in both studies grew up to drink alcohol more frequently and in greater quantities than less intelligent children. In the Brits’ case, “very bright” children grew up to consume nearly eight-tenths of a standard deviation more alcohol than their “very dull” cohorts.

I live with a stupid person and that's not it. I tend to think that the ones deemed intelligent, but are drinking that 6 pack or 12 pack or what ever. Do not have enough on there plate to keep their mind busy,so instead of picking up a hobby such as building a model airplane they pick up the alcohol to dum down and go to sleep. EDIT: I read this all wrong... Bright children grew up to be heavy drinkers. => ambitious are never happy or bite off more than they could chew and end up drinking more. Where the dull intelligents either don't make enough or are happy with where they are.


Still would like to see the info of where it was taken, control group what determined brighter questions...

This describes a friend I knew , to the tee . Unfortunately , he's no longer with us . I think drinking done him in , can't say for sure though .
