Skyjacker springs

I've gone through two sets of springs in my YJ-7 since i built it a few years ago so i've decided on moving up to some better quality springs. First set was rough country and second was pro-comp. Both, pieces of s*it. I have 4" skyjackers in mind. And even tho the front and rear are the same length, They have different stock numbers. Now i figure the front are built heavier than the rear because the engine is heavier than the gas tank. However the rear springs are more expensive. Can any one explain why? Does the rear have an extra leaf for potential loads? Do they charge more for the rear just because they can?
If no one here knows, I guess the next thing is to call skyjacker.

Yes they are front and rear specific. I believe the rear spring and eyes are wider, cant remember for sure. I would look at BDS suspensions, they have a no fine print life time guarantee. I bent a spring in a car accident and they sent me a new one, no questions asked. I wondered the same thing years back because I didn't buy a lift package when I lifted my jeep, ordered individual parts and as you said the front and rear cost different.

I'll check out the BDS springs. My problem isn't bending springs, It's them sagging over time, I have a winch and carry all kinds of tools and recovery gear plus my 35 inch tire hanging off the back. When i off road i usually take the hard trail and flex my suspension a lot. The reason i was looking at the skyjacker is that a friend has them on his 95 with probably more off road hours on his suspension than me and has lost very little lift and it flexes like crazy.
I got thinking about it after i posted yesterday and it might be the shim on the rear spring pack that makes the difference. Pretty expensive shim tho.

Skycrapper used to be known for sagging springs, I'm sure that's probably changed over the years. I too would look to BDS, maybe second choice would be Rubicon Express. I run RE SOA springs right now and very happy.
