I am putting together my next set of mods and part of this is a D44 out of a sj, question, I have been told the stock YJ master cylinder will work but has a lot a travel in it, and might be a bi#ch to bleed, is there a master cylinder that is completely bolt in to my booster and will supply me with a larger bore that I desire? early 80's f150? if I recall?

lastly, refresh my memmory, when welding on cast steel, rod weld? Mig will just destroy the casting?? been a while since I had to weld cast steel.

I have a 94 YJ

To auto lock or manual lock~ That is the question

Bump, anyone?

I have heard people welding to cast with a MIG... I think your supposed to just turn the heat down so you don't chunk it all up. I think Firemanharry has knows about welding to cast... maybe he can jump on and give more detail. I plan on building a bambar style traction bar soon which requires welding to cast and I'll be using a MiG too.

Re: EZ-locker or Lock-Right

My buddy that does my welding only uses an Arc welder on cast, and he has a big MIG he uses on other welding. I think nickel rods are best, but I may be mistaken.

I got a Wrangler Unlimited...

for weilding cast you will want to pre-heart the area before weilding to it and also post-heat the area after weilding it. the reason for this is that the weld cools faster than the cast or vice versa and can lead to cracking....use a good stick weilder and use nickle rods as mentioned....just rember those nickle rods arnt very cheap!

Cheap, yes they are when you used to weld and the shop gave you a sh#t load of parts when you left hehe!
