WOW I heard about this at approx noon today and never expected i'd know anyone there. I'm soooo glad your alright. *HUG*
Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker was happy to hear the bill was defeated. "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus."
What gets me is that one short clip where you can hear each gunshot and the cops are hiding and ducking behind the outside of the building. Every shot you hear just killed another person and they didn't even try and rush the building or anything, just kept ducking. I don't get it. People run into burning buildings but these cops can't come to the aid.

currupt,
I hope it is ok with you, if not, PM me and I will take it down.
But I want to show my support for the tragedy that just took place and the lives that will be forever impacted. So I changed my sig, temporarily out of respect.
your friend,

Glad to hear your OK... I couldn't belive it when I saw it on TV.... and he (the shooter) was arrested by campus security and reffered to mental counceling (sp?) and a doctor found him to be MENTALLY ILL...
i think prairiepunk was talking about before this incident. I don't think he was arrested, but he was forced to be seen by a mental health professional. I know around here its a waste of time. I took a kid who said that he wanted to kill his grandparents. I completed the emergency psychological committal form and the doctor released him within a 2minute conversation. He asked, "do you have access to any guns?" The kid said no, and then the doctor asked, anything else you could hurt people with, and he said no. The doctor then released him to go home to his grandparents again. Who feared for their lives keep in mind. Sorry, but doesn't every house have steak knives, heavy objects, probably some sort of tape, rope, fire etc. Maybe its just me, but i think there is more than a gun used to kill or hurt people. Thats probably what happened with this kid.
some local news. In the bordering town of Salem, Nh. there has been threats from wed to today about a shooting on 4/20/07... they found a note on a lunch table where my good friend that attends the high school says "all the normal you know cool kids sit." that said "get ready to die" my friend as admitted to making fun of the weird gothic group of kids who were said to be making threats down the hallways wednesday to random kids "are you ready to die/ watch out for the shooter"
My friend stayed home from school today, and we drove by the school. there was we estimated about half the parking lot cars missing and about 10 cop cars 2 at both entrances and about 6-8 parked randomly. I feel as though the school is not taking the threats as serious as they should, having school for today and tomorrow. The school should be closed. They are on spring break next week, its not like these 2 days matter.
