I'm looking for shocks now. Just wondering what you guys recomend.

I am trying to lift my Jeep 2" to put some bigga tires unda there..32s

I am just full of questions tonight. I have decided to take the money and put it into the Jeep and vacation at Paragon, for a few days.

der can I be any more girl stupid? i know the shocks arn't gonna lift my jeep but spring spacers will, and new shocks i need...thats the whole point...ah well maybe I should just go to bed

 Hey girl,

I'm glad to see youve made your decision about your extra money. I have heard alot of good things about BDS suspension systems. Getting bigger tires too! sweet.

I know all about the duh girl stupid thing too. I've a whole porch full of parts right this minute. I can hardly lift some of them. lol It took me ages of looking around and asking questions before I ordered this stuff myself. I didn't go BDS but hey I'm just another girl jeeper. lol See what the guys say.

See ya soon hopefully!

Shocks.... well, typically a complete lift kit will come with shocks. I've heard (no experience) that ProComp shocks are stiff. I've run a set of Rancho 5000 shocks for 2 years... they were pretty nice. Now I have Rough Country shocks... but I've only had them for a week (new lift installed!!)

Bounty swears by the Doetsch-Tech shocks. And I've heard that Black Diamond shocks are sweet. The hydro version of shocks will be softer than the Nitro version. Keep that in mind. Let us know if you have more Q's.

Laura,
Personally, I like my BDS shocks for 2" lift. I bought these without a "Kit" However, I wouldn't suggest putting shocks that are ment for a 2" lift without having the lift on there. I have tried this and they will fully compress when you hit bumps and make seam as if your bumpstops are not working as intended. A lot of folks around here Swear by Doesch tech Shocks, I swear by BDS. Both I think are produced in the same factory that makes Ranchos, I know BDS is. So, there are 3 choices for you.

Brand: Front Rear App
Dosch Tec DT3000 3080 3129 TJ Wrangler (coil suspension) 0"-2"
BDS 2" lift 55965 55975 TJ Wrangler
BDS 0-1" lift 55960 55969 TJ Wrangler
Rancho can't seam to find the Rancho part numbers. But you can get them at PepBoys.

These are All Hydrolic Shocks BTW. Not saying that you GOTTA have these just giving you the suggestion ya asked for.

P.S. Still cheaper to go with the Rubicon Express Budget Boost. :-D

I'm not buying a kit..since I am just doing spacers.

LJF, I'm doing BFG mud terrains, I got a wicked good price. Hey, what's the deal with you and Paragon the 17th of January, Mike and I are wondering if you and Zeb are up to it!!! email me laura@wbsysnet.com!

L33TJ, I wouldnt put them on until I lift it..don't worry.

Re: More CB help

Be sure to get adjustable stocks.I like mine because I can turn them to full soft on the trail and I dont feel the bumbs nearly as bad as I could at full hard on the road.

If you aren't going with the Kit, I will suggest the BDS :-D (personal pref)

BDS 2" lift 55965 55975 TJ Wrangler Part numbers for the BDS.

Any hydraulic will suffice, most are actually made by the same company. I prefer Doetsch-Tech 3000's from Rubicon Express or www.allmyneeds.com or Rusty's Hydros for $30 each. I liked my 'ole Skycrapper Hydros, and hate my current Skycrapper Nitros, but hey, there were free and the length I needed. They're about to rattle me and jeep apart, though.

If the spacers actually measure 1.75" like most do, you may be able to get by with the stock shocks since you'll eventually get a 4" kit  (they all do  ).
