Shackle Lift

[JJs 88 Wrangler]

Hello All,
I just installed 2" lift shackles. I noticed a gap between the leaf and shackle. If I tighten it up so there isn't a gap, I will taper the shackle. Should I leave it the way it is or tighten them up? Please see the attached pics. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Wow you bent the hell out of them I'd just use some spacers to make up the difference on either side of the spring

You probably need to install new bushings both top and bottom but washers on the spring sides will help make the difference up for the short term. Those shackles look like nothing but scary to me; shackle lifts are not the way to go because of the huge force placed on them while you wheel. I know they look tempting because they are cheap compared to new springs but….

Thank You Guys.. I will order new bushings, and when I get some extra cash, I will buy new leaf springs.

I have the exact same shackles and have had for 8 years with out a problem. Mine are not that narrow at the spring end but I bought lift springs at the same time. I would use washers until you get new springs.
