Replacement Top

Hi All,

I have a '91 Wrangler with a factory softtop that's falling off the bone. I also have the Upper Door Slider compatible with the '91 softtop. I would like to replace my top with the Bestop Sunrider. I noticed in looking at pictures of the Sunrider that the trailing edge of the upper doors are rounded, the trailing edge of my doors are square.

Hopefully the following links work:

My upper door

Bestop Sunrider

My questions are:

1) Is the Bestop Sunrider for the '91 Wrangler compatible with my current upper door?

2) If not, is there a upper door (with glass) that is compatible with both my '91 Wrangler factory steel halfdoor and the Sunrider?

3) Dealer recommendations?

4) Any other tips/tricks I should keep in mind on this top replacement expedition?

I've sent an email to Bestop and haven't heard back yet. I also spoke to someone at JC Whitney but was uncomfortable with the response I got. I'm trying to avoid buying stuff just to have to send it back, if I can.

Any info most appreciated!

Update: The above images don't work try here.

I have the Bestop Sunrider and I've seen other people with hard upper half doors being used with the Sunrider. I have full hard doors so I can't tell you what kind work with it. I remember seeing other posts on here that mentioned a brand that will work with it. Who knows, mabye Bestop has one that will work. I'm sure someone else here will know for sure.[addsig]

Thanks for Replying Craig.

As far as I can tell from looking at pictures, the Sunrider seems to be designed for hard full doors or '96 and newer steel halfdoors because I think they have the rounded corners. Ideally I would like to be able to use the upper halfdoors I already have because I'm sure a comparable upper door will run me 200-300 bones on top of the price of the top.

Then there's the Pavement End version of the Sunrider, which can be purchased with soft upper doors. It's cheaper, but from what I've read not as well built.

BTW, the images linked above don't seem to work so I moved the images to here, click on the jeep album.[addsig]
