what size 89? are you replacing the transmission, motor, or both? do you have anyone with experience to go to if you come to a problem? for what reason do you want to do this? is one broke, upgrade, ease of the auto... etc....?[addsig]

if they are both 6 cyl, then the bolt pattern should be the same... the motor mounts may be different, not sure... [addsig]

It will bolt right in for the most part, motor mounts are the same. The auto will not bolt to your transfer case, so you'll need to use the ZJ transfer case or swap out the input shaft of your case to fit the auto.

You may also need to redrill the transmission mount in the crossmember, or build a custom one, as that auto likely never came in a Wrangler.

Good luck, keep us updated on the swap. (The 4.0L will bolt right in if you want to keep the 5spd) [addsig]
