i have a 97 grand cherokee thats got issues when u start it i can go a block an it will idle in rev an drive then it will start idling low shake the jeep an die if u start it back up an put in rev it dies no matter how much gas u give it but start it in neutral give a lil gas drop in drive it will drive good shift fine but come to a stop an it will vibrate hard an die also when u drive down the road an turn overdrive off it wont go off.if u start it an shut overdrive off before u put in gear an start drivin it will stay off till u turn it back on.got any ideas

4.0, 5.2 or 5.9 engine?

First check your fuel pressure and see if it is within specs.

I've also seen a poor ground cause this same issue.

took it down the road run the crap out of it and it works fine now,maybe something was blocked.dont know,now overdrive button works idles smooth in all gears.thanks for your suggestions.
