:? :? :? :? :? I just got done putting my Pozi-lok on my 1990 Jeep Wrangler YJ, all is good except while I am driving the 4WD light flickers. I thought maybe a short but, nope, and it fills like it is full enganged. Just wondering if anyone has had the same issue and how they solved it? Just got back from going out to Test drive; It does disingage fully, however when I engage it. It will be a steady light. Then when I start driving IN 4WD it starts flickering

Thanx

Ahh, saw in your other post you have a '90. Check to see if you have 2 or 3 vacuum lines at the front axle disconnect in stock form. If 3, then it sounds like something may be interrupting the vacuum to the 4wd switch mounted on the firewall, possibly a vacuum leak.

Thanx for the help, but it is a Pozi-Lok, Hence removal of ALL Vaccume lines and no need for them . It's a '90:-) :-) :-)

Correct, but I asked how many vacuum lines in stock form so I could better answer your initial question

You can't just simply remove vacuum lines when doing the posi-lock. You may cause other vacuum problems as well. Did the instructions tell you how to cap them off or tie them together???

Yes I only had to Cap off one hole and the intire harness was removed as it was not needed ,, the rubber part on the trany was also removed and was covered by an aftermarket cover to keep all the dirt and debri out, this all was in the instructions provided.

got ya, it was 4 lines red, yellow, green and blue
I meant to the front axle, should be two or three lines. Two lines means the 4wd light switch is on the axle and there's a wiring harness coming from the disconnect. If it's three vacuum lines, the 4wd light switch is on the firewall.

it is 3 hoses to the old accuator and the switch is on the Firewall, I spliced the wire and sent it down the Pozi as it instructed, it all appears good from there. And now that I have had it on there a few days I am begining to think that it is not fully disenganging, so I'm going to need to get under there again :purple:

I installed the kit also on my '93 YJ. I had the same problem. What I believe the problem is is that it is just not adjusted perfectly. I noticed that when it flickered i could push in the handle locking it in better. Just adjusting it so it moves farther to the unlocked side (passenger) should fix the problem. O and a word of advice. I made the mistake of not carefully checking the routing of the cable. I didnt and found that it was lying on the collector for the header. It became so hot it melted the cable and now i need a new one. Hope that helps.

Well, I simply decided to to take everything apart and start from scratch today. I just went ahead and started from the begining and made sure I had it working before tightning everything up. IT WORKS, thanx to everyone :D :D :D :D :drunk: :drunk:

If you start having problems again, you might need to replace the stock aluminum shift fork with a steel one. I installed one this summer and I was having the same problems you where. Took me a few times of pulling it all apart and calling Posi-Lock to find out what was wrong. What happens is the stock fork tends to have to much play in it, so sometimes it won't engage properly. Hope your's stays working though.
