Post death wobble damage and aftermath

Recently noticed the front of my jeep wiggling uncontrollably and turned out I did indeed have the death wobble. I had the shocks replaced and other damages repaired but I never swapped out the tires. I had them checked and was told they are oblong. More ovular the circular and was wondering if keeping imperfect tires may cause the wobble to come back and cost me more in the long run to save a couple hundred bucks now. I can still feel it wobble around 60 mph but believe that is just the tires. Any advice is appreciated, thanks

All of my wobble issues have been tire related. It's amazing the difference a new set of well balanced tires will make.

Bad tires will help getting death wobble started, but you still need something like worn bushings to get a full wobble going. I'd suggest putting the out of round tires on the back of your Jeep and keep the best tires on the front.

If you run bad tires you'll put extra wear on your bushings, and end up having to replace them sooner. A good lift kit will include most of the bushings that need to be replaced, so you could just run the tires for a while, then buy new tires and lift the Jeep.

Yea, rotation is important. Front tires tend to cupp and will wear funny sometimes, especially on soft rubber or an agressive tread.
