Is there anything us jeepers can do to help this country of ours? We are in bad times, I wish to rally the support of all jeepers and Bikers that are employed to donate one days pay to help our country. Dont know how to go about such a venture for submitting donations and who to appoint to take the resposibility of such moneys and where it should go.
But in my opinion, jeeps and Harleys are the backbone of our modern day American heritage,and something needs to get done.
Can we all unite and do something, I have 150 dollars to get the ball rolling.

If we were to hold a charity like such we would need a website, firstly websites aren't easy to build w/out a service like Weebly for example but those cost too much money to be economical. Since Terry already has a site, and a paypal set up I would recommend you ask him to handle the funds and do the advertisements. A friend of mine and I have been playing around with websites and we're thinking it could be doable to set it up. It would be a simple site, one page, a paragraph about what you're doing and a donate here button. Setting up a credit card system isn't impossible and you could probably find the codes online. (paypal is nice, but it limits your target audience).

I would start by sending Terry a PM and seeing if he can set something up on this site. If not then look into getting your own.

In general domain hosting (the URL for example "www.jeepz.com" in general costs. Anywhere from 50 cents, to a dollar a day so it isn't cheap. The host me and my friend are using is 20 cents a day more or less but that site is limited in what you can do.

I would also look into www.Weebly.com

They have free domains if your okay with it saying www.*********.Weebly.com

Or it's 40 to 50 dollars a year for the .Weebly part to be dropped.

sounds like a good idea, but it would be hard to do. I personally can't afford to donate a day's pay since i don't make that much as it is, and being on workmans comp for a month really hit me hard. if such a thing like this is done, where would the money go and what would it be used for? care packages for the military over seas? a donation to a certain charity?

I think you've got a great idea, but I think that we need to be more focused on what we'd like to do, along the lines of what Tim mentioned.

I personally like the United Way.

I would be inclined to go with the idea of care packages for our troops overseas. Since the jeep was created for the military,I think it would be fitting that the soldiers reep some of the rewards of the popularity of this machine. I'm open to anything that will help this country.
