I have a 05 Liberty with a 3.7L. On the first start up of the day my oil light comes on and stays on and it throws this PO522 code. If I shut it down and restart it goes away, and doesn't happen anymore until it sits awhile or overnight. I don't know if its the oil pressure sending unit or an electrical problem oil mayb the oil pump is going bad. I'm new to this forum and appreciate any help. Thanks

P0522-Engine oil Pressure Switch Circuit Low. from the info i've gathered, it sounds like an electrical concern rather than mechanical/hydraulic. granted your not hearing a knocking noise when this occurs.if not, make sure the electrical connector to the oil pressure sending unit is properly secured.Possible loss of ground to the switch if it has an adapter. possible a faulty Switch.

Thanks for the reply. After thinking about it, I'm thinking the switch is bad. Engine runs great no knocking, fresh oil change and up to the full mark. It only happens when it's been sitting overnight, mostly on the cooler nights that we are having. Maybe the switch is kind of stuck. because if I shut it down immediately and restart it the oil light goes off and stays off till the next day on cold start up. I'll change the switch and see what happens. Thanks again for the help
