Sitting at the airport waiting to start the trip to kansas. Tsa said to get here an hour and a half early and so I did. Guess what, now I have an hour wait. No lines no nothing. Oh well, iam glad I packed this nook color, way easier then breaking the laptop out of the bag and balancing it on my leg while typing.

Oh yah, just so the jeep is ok (and the kids), my oldest son will start it and drive it around the yard once or twice while I am gone

Just another reason I'd rather drive than fly. Too bad it's just too far for the time you have to get there. Have a good & safe trip!

Yup, to far for me to drive alone in the amount of time I have to get there.

Thanks though, hopefully no troubles.

i knew this post was the oldest one west of the missouri river but you are right, it is totally different then i was expecting.

there is a lot of repeat from other courses I have taken but, like all classes, there is some new interesting stuff too. its very comfortable to be back in a real army community instead of a civilian community on a military base. and, not having all my normal distractions (xbox, work, life) i am able to concentrate on the training well. this is not a competitive course, grading wise, its a pass and you learn at your own pace course but I could tell from day one that I am one of the natural leaders in the class. Its funny, its a leadership class and myself and only about four or five others appear to be the only natural leaders in the class. A lot of the people seem to only be leaders because they were placed in the position. oh well, the learning experience will hopefully allow them to open up and embrace the job they now hold.

It is indeed a lot of public speaking and a number of people have problems with it. But, its part of the job. As shop supervisors, we all have to do large group briefing regularly and some times have to brief much higher rank people (like the colonel over my depot). Its fun though, lots of nice and interesting people
