What about a 12v ARB? They run a little over $200 and no need mount it to your engine, which eliminates brackets/belts/etc.

I run an ARB compressor, and also kept my AC. Been in there for 3 or 4 years now...

My $40 harbor freight is a knock off of the ARB compressor. It vibrated apart and now I have to reassemble it (one wire tore loose on the relay inside and the fuse melted the socket in the cord)

Dont feel too bad. I killed one ARB compressor when it automatically kicked in while it was submerged. I since connected the air intake of my compressor to the air filter, so that it uses the snorkel to avoid being drowned!
