Has anybody actually driven an ethanol powered vehicle??? I would like to hear whether it has the same or less oomph a gas burner does.
I assume the "85" in E85 is the octane rating. Regular is 87 so already seems to me that it would have slightly less power.

I saw report that you get worse gas milage so E85 is a wash in some vehicles. I am sure it is different for some.

I went the opposite direction but have been pleasantly suppried. I went form a 2004 Chev Aveo to a 2001 Chev Venture (needed more room.) I have been supprised to be getting 25 mpg out of it even though it has 110,000 miles. It is funny because it was not to long ago that I swore I would never buy a minivan, I would just get a Suburban or something. Then the time came the the gas went up and here I am loving the minivan!

I drove one last year, but don't have anything to compare it with. It seemed fine on power. The "85" in E85 is the percentage of ethanol, not the octane rating.
