Okay, explain this to me please. Easy question.........

In my reading about Jeeps and stuff, I never saw the terms YJ and TJ. Where do they come from and what do they mean? Why does the stealership call my vehicle a "Wrangler" and everyone else seems to call it a "TJ"?

Basicly a CJ started off with round headlights
and the YJ has square headlights and the TJ has

Those letter designations are used on the Wranglers sold outside the US, and it has kinda carried over following the lead of pre-87 Jeeps.

They don't really stand for much as acronyms, unless you consider Yuppie Jeep and Trendy Jeep :lol: [addsig]

I went to Canada this past weekend... and all the TJs had "TJ" written on the side with the regular badging... and I think you can guess what most of the YJs had on them[addsig]

This is my first post and i might be able to clear up some stuff on the Abbriviations on jeeps.

CJ = civilian jeep
MJ = military jeep
DJ = delivery jeep
FC = foward control

Those are the only ones that make much sense, but here are the others anyways.

KJ = 2002 Present Liberty
MJ = Commanche Pickup
SJ = 1970's Full Size Cherokee & Wagoneer
VJ = Original Jeepster
WJ = 1999 Present Grand Cherokee
XJ = 1984 Present Mid-size Cherokee & Wagoneer
ZJ = 1992-1998 Grand Cherokee
