oil presure gauge


you have oil pressure... its not really so uncommon for jeep gauges to act as such
 
With the needle pegged, pull off the sending unit wire. If the needle drops, replace the sending unit. If this doesn't solve the problem it may be the pressure bypass valve/spring is stuck/frozen up. If yours is an eight cyl it's an easy fix. If a six cyl, off comes the pan.
 

RE: doors off, lights & buzzer stay on?

I just posted a thread about the same thing a couple of weeks ago....I replaced the oil sender unit and everything is hunky-dory again. Took all of 5 minutes to do. I can't remember what I paid for the sender, but I know it was under $30. It's located just behind and below the distributor on the passenger side of the engine.
 
What year 4-banger?

Replacing the sending unit is a pretty cheap swap, 'tho that might not be your problem. Worth a shot - when those things go, they'll shoot oil like you wouldn't believe!
