Would P215 tires be recommended for hitting light trails? Or would they be OK for some tougher trails? I need to know before I try to hit some trails![addsig]

do it up... see what you think... personally... i prefer something a little wider... but the narrower tires help with steering[addsig]

215 is a small tire, won't do much for your groud clearance, probably limiting your off-highway experience to just gravel roads. You can fit a 235 or even 245 on a stock TJ. Most use the standard tire sizes, ie. 31x10.5, 30x.9.5, etc.

You talking on your TJ or XJ? What brand/model tire you looking to use?[addsig]

Sorry! Talking about my TJ. I was thinking of the 31's but I hear good and bad about them. Some say they fit fine for on and off road. Others say they will tear up the wheel well off road. Still others say that the 31's will need a spring spacer lift to make the off road use better. I am not going to be hitting trails that often... maybe the Badlands once or twice a year. Other than that, my TJ is my daily driver. So on that note... give me your suggestions!!!

Thanks![addsig]

Hey man I had a 1 inch taller body mount kit on my TJ and I fit 35's on 15x8 rim. I had a ton of rubbing but they fit! so on your jeep there is no question you could fit a 31 inch tall tire. [addsig]

You TJ guys are so lucky. I would get the inexpensive spring spacer lift and go with 31's. This would make your jeep trail worthy and still be streetable. If you only plan on going off road once a year. Save all your money and just get 30x9.50 tires.

I am currently runnig the 215's and it is only due to the fact that they came on this Jeep and were new treads when I bought it. They work well on the road but are very Bla off the pavements. However there is no reason to change them untill I goet her lifted up and can do it right. When I do get my lift and hope that it will be very soon I will be running 31's or maybe 33's depending on the choices I make between now and then. There is no shame in running any size tire but you can be limited by your choices. Just run as hard as your limitations will allow. Tug[addsig]
