no liftgate and wrong color doors for winter setup

Ok, so I wanted a hard top & hard doors. I decided they weren't worth the extra $$$, but saw a hardtop locally on eBay for $125. Bought it. Looked for 2 weeks and got a good deal on a set of doors, $550 but in pristine condition. I'm pretty pleased with my $675 hard top and doors, but I had two problems to address.
The first was the fact that the hardtop had no liftgate. That was easy, I made one out of plexiglass, the factory hinges, rubber seals, and a wood bottom that the tailgate holds in place. It's quiet, tight, and doesn't look too bad!
The second issue is that I have black doors on a white Jeep. Whitey kind of looks like an old squad car :( ! I've never done any painting on an automobile, but really want to do it myself. Any advice as to how to prep and paint my doors? how would I find a matching paint? I'm not looking for perfection here, just looking for the simplest way to get them looking halfway decent.

Ratle Can for now! Better yet Rattle Can Camo for life! Really makes folks think twice prior to robbing you jeep. They kinda figure you are a radical crazy type to have a paint job like that to start with. Best security system I have found. Drive a camo Jeep and Bark at folks! hehehe tug

There will be a paint code on the sticker that has the vin and gvw. Take the code to a paint supplyer and they should be able to match it. Then spend the coupld bucks on a paint gun. You can get a cheep one at home depo for cheep or go to a pawn shop and get a better quality. If there is no rust or deep scratches. Lightly sand with pretty smooth sandpaper I usually use whatever I can find laying around (I don't want my jeep to look too good or I will be affraid to scratch it again.) then spray away. Make sure if you do it in a garadge you cover or move everything. The paint will leave a layer on everything, or do it outside and try to keep the dust down by wetting down the things around you so it won't go on the paint.

As far a the painting all I can do is tell you to practice and adjust the sprayer on something else before you paint the Jeep.

by sand lightly, do you mean just rough the surface? At first I thought I would have to take them down to bare metal. If you're saying I just need to knock the smooth off the original paint, that's music to me ears!
