Yeah, I agree its could definetly be a vaccum leak or pinch in the line somewhere
I really do need to trace everything out,its just so damn cold out (VT).
I appreciate all the suggestions and info and everyone who chimed in.

RE: Rear Locking Diff, on a CJ?!?!

Under the hood on the passenger side up close to the firewall there is a "one-way" valve in a VAC line. We had this replaced the first time ours quit changing. The guy at the dealership said it was common for them to start leaking back thru.
as for mine....thats not MY prob this time....I had it checked it..air only goes one way thru it.
Maybe yours has gone bad.
