New to CJ 7

Hello,

I just bought my first CJ and it is kind of a Frankenstein Jeep, with a 97 350 small block and 350 turbo trans. The guy i bought it from didn't know much other than the rear end is in a full time lock. My question is when I put it into what I think is 2 wheel drive it rattles the front diff, do i need to start looking for another front axle?

When you say that it rattles, do you mean that you hear something at a standstill, or when moving?
For a Jeep that old, it may be worth your time to pull the front driveshaft and see if the rattling stops. You could also checkout the ujoints while you're at it.


Post some photos of your CJ7 when you have some time.
