Have a friend selling a 95 wrangler. I'm told the engine was rebuilt 15 k ago. It has a hole in the exhaust and a baseball size hole in the frame underneath the rear seat. Also needs an alignment and has a crack in the windshield, but he says it doesnt leak air. How much would it cost to get fixed, and how much is it worth?

If the frame is eaten up, it's worthless.....unless you have some serious $$ to throw at it. If it's rusted through there, look around the transmission support/skid pan mounts and the mounts for the leaf springs.

I saw a YJ from New York last year that only had one solid transmission support left. The rest were rusted out of the frame:shock:. Leaf spring mounts were cracked too. If you see something like that, don't walk away....RUN!

It was disappointing. I really love my Cherokee but I'd love a wrangler too lol. That sucks. What if I were to buy a frame from a local junk yard? How hard would it be to put it all on a different non rusted frame? Local jy has frame for $825

Did a quick look on craigslist, and it looks like a 95 in good condition is worth $2500 - $4500. 1995 wrangler - Classifieds Search. I'd say it's worth $1000 or so (probably worth more if you piece it out).

If you are willing to replace the frame then go for it, but if it were me, I'd pass.

Ok Ty so much for the help guys. Wish it wouldn't have the prob. First real chance I had to get a wrangler at a cheaper price lol

Body work is something a DIY mechanic can learn and do and if that was all that was wrong, this jeep might be worthgetting. Frame rebuilding is beyond an entry level DIY project since you would need to cut, bend, and weld plate steel, which suggests that you might want to skip this Jeep and look for one with simpler problems.
