I'm sure most of you have headr by now that the lift is going to have to be put off for a little bit (Girlfriend got laidoff and $$ goes to non essentials like food and the mortgage).

The flip side is Inspection is up this month and I NEED to get new tires. I was wondering if any of you run 31 by 10.5 on a stock TJ, and the problems you might have while off roading. I know what tires I want, just not the size. Dingus.......You can't reply, as I'm not getting the 35's you requested lol.

I run 31x10.5 on a stock YJ... just have air shocks to keep a stiff ride.... It doesn't articulate well at all... because I keep it stiff so they don't rub.... you can use them on a TJ i'm sure.... just might get some rubbin[addsig]

31's will fit! 31's will fit!!!!!!

haha... 35's would cost me so much money... i wouldn't even buy them off you... i'd need more lift, all the drivetrain BS, different gearing, etc... NOT worth it... especially on a Daily Driver.[addsig]

Rob,

Sorry to hear about the girlfriends misfortunes. I am running 31s on on my stock YJ suspension. There is some rubbing at full flex and if you are carrying much weight in the rear such as 2 extra people and gear. Have you considered a temporary fix until the money situation gets better? My thought was a coil spacer lift until you can get the suspension lift!? I know that it is not the ideal long term solution, but it will help protect the tires from rubbing for the time being. Just a thought. Hope it helps.

My friend runs 31's on his stock YJ.They look great but they rub a little with weight in the back. Offroad is not that great either. They rub like crazy.I would recomend waiting till you have the money for a lift and tires.I dont think that it is worth it to get them now. Sully [addsig]

31's should fit- too bad its a TJ, you can get shackle lift real quick and real easy in a YJ.... O well. But the 31's will be a tight fit, but it is able to be done as long as you make sure not to go over to rough of terrain for the time being....[addsig]

I have a stock 97 TJ with 31 x 10.5 and they work fine. I havent had them rub in any of my offroading. I also have a friend with 31 x 11.5 on his stock TJ with no problems[addsig]

The way a TJ is setup makes it have a bit more tire clearance stock than a YJ. You should be able to run 31's stock without any rubbing. On a YJ I would say no way....31's would not even be useful (offroad) on a stock YJ. But I hear of alot of guys running 31's on a stock TJ no problemo.[addsig]
