need front driveshaft

im looking for a front driveshaft for my 1997 zj, one end w/ the Double-Cardan joint, other end single u-joint. i found one at a local pull-a-part, but it's like 2 inches too short. the one im looking for has a boot on the extending part of the driveshaft. any ideas where i could get a good used one for cheap or on a trade?

manif you were closer i would just give you one.. i got a pile of front xj and zj shafts. why do you need a new? could you just have yours rebuilt.. lenthened??

i would gladly pay you for shipping. and i doesnt have to be new, just new to me dealer cost $550.00 for new. i went out to pull a part and bout the one that seemed right, but like i said was two inches too short. the one im needing has a boot on the extend part with no grease fitting. if you have one, i would gladly arrange someway to get it. ill post pics of my old one, it aint worth rebulding.

hmm i dont have any with a boot on them.. how long do you need it to be? fully extended and fully collapsed?

actually one of my buddies suggested something. we are gonna try to cut the broken piece off the old driveshaft, and replace it wit the one that aint broke. he gotta welder. if that dont work, ill get measurements. thanks

Depends on where you weld it. You can't but weld the shaft because it will never hold. Plus if it is out of balance you will get vibrations going down the road.

we decided against that idea... it is 32" not extended and i think 34" fully extended
