My jeep won't move

Can someone help me diagnose please... My 84 cj7 with a straight 6 with a manual trans has been sitting for two days and when I tried to take it out today, it wasn't a having it. Everything seems normal, but when I put it in gear and try to go, it just revs high as if in neutral. A couple things I did were:
filled up in clutch fluid
check if my drive shafts were intact
turn off the engine, put it in gear and was able to push it forward
was able to shift into gears without stepping on the clutch pedal while motor on
no funny or scary noises
theres about an inch of free play with the clutch pedal like usual
The clutch slave shaft appears to be semi covered with gunk and almost dripping
when my brother steps on the clutch, I can see the shaft pushing the clutch arm, then retracting. I do notice I can manually push the clutch arm and shaft back into the clutch slave about 3/4 of and inch..

Whats the problem and what can I do?

Did someone hit the shifting lever to the transfer case and knock it in nutrial?

I agree, the tcase shift lever is worth a look at. sounds like that could be it.
