My First Car

I am starting to take drivers-ed and I have been thinking about what car I would like to buy in the hopefully near future. I know I would really LOVE a Jeep Wrangler ,but, is it really the best car for me to choose? And if it is what should I look for in price and running ability? So, if you can help me out that would be great!

Welcome to Jeepz.com. What is your budget? That will play the biggest role in what you buy.

It all depends on who you are, where you live, and what you want out of a car.

Jeeps are fun vehicles, especially for someone that likes the outdoors, would like to be able to go off pavement, or maybe drive through snow. Jeeps are a bit rough riding and can be noisy, especially if you have a soft top. But soft tops are great because you can take them off when the weather is mild. There's a huge number of aftermarket items you can get for a Jeep, and many are simple to install. Jeeps are relatively easy to work on. Price wise, the issue with Jeeps is they rarely really bottom out to like $2500, but seem to prefer a low end of like $4K to $5K, which is good if you buy one. So expect to spend $5K to $7K, unless you are lucky and find a bargain as those do come up now and then.

Good luck.

You also have to be careful with mods. I've owned my jeep less then a year and have already poured more than 2,000 bucks into making it more fun. I suggest you find a jeep that already has some work done to it but not a whole lot.

Scuba: SHHHHHH you dont tell him what jeep stands for till after he buys one.

Honestly for a very first vehicle i would stick with a stock Jeep until you get the hang of driving on all terrain and weather before modifying it.Personally I would stick with a 97 or newer just because of the suspension would be better for a first time driver.Take it slow,Jeeps are made for fun not speed demons.
