You need to use a relay. Be sure you have a fuse between the relay and the battery, and between the battery and the fog lamp switch. Here is a drawing I made awhile back for a 4-wire relay. The terminal numbers should be the same on any automotive relay. A five wire relay will be wired the same way, but ignore the 87A terminal.

Terminal#
30 = Power source input from battery
87 = Power output to lights
87A = Not used
85 = Relay coil trigger (from switch)
86 = Relay coil ground

Hope that helps :mrgreen:

good descriptive drawing... once you know how to use relays, you'll want to hook everything up through them... they help a lot.. and you can get creative with them too

When I installed mine I ran the wires into the jeep by drilling a 1/2" hole right past the dash below the windshield hinge. I also made little brackets to keep the wires getting crushed in the door when it is closed. I didn't use a relay (I didn't know how to) but I probably should have. I put the switch to the left of the rear defrost switch. I only have this one pic online right now,

Thanks for the info but my new tires came in today so i'm gonna get them on then find somewhere to test them out. 31" Kumho Venture m/t's not bad for $83 buck a piece..................... i guess the lights will wait til the weekend

I decided to buy the same thing but I am going local. They are 90 bucks a pop but when you take the tire rack price and add the shipping I am saving myself 6 - 7 bucks a tire.

Lemme know how they work for you.

the total cost was 473 for five tires, my friend has a tire shop and 4 from him would have cost me 480 bucks, so by using the rack i basically got one for free!!!!! i just got back from his shop and they're mounted/balanced and they look awesome..... hopefully gonna get in the woods after work depending if my friend is around with his truck

p.s. are you a braves fan???? i love the braves since i was little. everyone around here likes the yanks, sox, or the piss poor mets!!!!

Yes, I have like the Braves since Before Dale Murphy's career ending Mole remover :-D. Why Sampson would cut off his own hair, I have NO clue.

Currently I am seeking a Mom-N-Pop tire store to buy muh old tires. or maybe I can sell them for 50 a pop on e-bay. Who knows.
