motor??

The guy that I bought the electronic exhaust cutout is parting out the rest of the car it came out of, which was a 87 Buick GN, he wants $3200 for the motor and transmission, the engine has about 120K and will need a rebuild, sounds like it is skipping.

Oh the car was a slightly modified, daily driver, that was stolen and then flipped. The insurance company totalled it and was going to give the owner $4000 for it, so he kept it and is parting out.

Do you think he is a little over priced? Also would that turbo 3.8 would be too much for my AX15?? I don't want a auto, and they should make an adapter!

I would price out a rebuilt motor I would guess you could almost get a long block and rebuilt transmission for that. I priced a rebuilt long block for my CJ at $600. Unless there is something super special about that motor I would offer $1500.

There is nothing wrong with my motor, 110K and doesn't drip a ounce, I do my maintance all the time.

I was just pondering the thought of having a turbo charged 3.8 motor in a jeep!

DO IT... that is one of the best motors ever built... i am not sure how the ax15 will hold to it... though, don't be afraid of an automatic... the 3.8T with the T60 turbo would be an awesome motor to toss into like a 3rd gen camaro, stock looking.. total sleeper
