Motor upgrade

Rebuiliding 6cylinder 4.0 for mud.
Jeep Cherokee with turbo.
Just want to do it right the first time.
I was told this is place to get answers.
Should I reinstall stock cam?
Heads? Etc. Any help would be appreciated.

The 4.0 engine was a pretty good one. If you don't think you need the extra horsepower, I'd stay closer to stock for reliability. If you want to perk up the low end, you can find a cam that will do that.
