Modifications for a 1995 ZJ

I drove my moms new jeep grand cherokee with a 4.7 the other day and now im craving power. I have a 1995 ZJ with a 4.0 L. Does anyone know what performance modifications can be made to this engine. Thanks[addsig]

yeah my moms is a v8 4.7 L but mine is a 4.0 L. I was amazed at the difference she has a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and that was the biggest engine they offered in 2002. As I understand they did put the 5.9 in some jeep grand cherokees in 1997 and 98. [addsig]

yeah, but those 5.9's are gas pigs...

as for your 4.0, it makes 190 horsepower, and the 4.7 makes 235 horsepower... quite a difference you'll be trying to make up there in bolt-on mods... probably cost you the equivalent of selling your jeep and buying one with a v8, ya know?[addsig]

Yeah I know but I would like to get the most out of the straight six that I can, I know it will never have as much get up and go as the 4.7 but I was wanting to know is there any chip upgrades ect. that are out there that will help, I pull alot and the mnore power the better. Thanks![addsig]

i know they make stroker kits for the 4.0 that actually makes it a 4.7, you could look into that...[addsig]

I was in sorta the same boat. I drove around the 2.5L for 3 years and when it came time that I was able to afford another jeep I opted for the 4.7L what a HUGE difference. I ton better than even the new high hp V6s that Lexus totes in the RX300 and Chevy has in the Trailblazer. [addsig]
