I don't know if this will help or not for your year. I have and 88 and there is a brown see thru box on the fire wall with plastic gears in it. It should be just to the right of the gas pedal. You need to pull it off and there is a hole in the back of it. There should be a little metal are about the size of a paper clip push it up. And the light should go off. If your year still had that set up.[addsig]

thanks, jay, but i looked by the pedal and there was no box, just a place where a box (something) was screwed into the firewall in the cab.

there's something there that set that puppy off today. perhaps someone moved the box. i had the dash out and the wiring harnass free during my rebuild but didn't see this box you refer to.

a mystery. :-?

if the box you mentioned was gear-driven, it had to be hooked up to something on the drive train to move the gears? or perhaps the speedo cable?

Maybe some one took it out. It just had an electrical connector hooked to it. And 2 screws holding it to the fire wall. Just below the heater duct. Tomorrow I can send a picture of it if you want.[addsig]

i would appreciate that photo. now, if the unit was removed, then i wonder what triggered the light?

interesting. i doubt it's comming from the sensor itself. it's the new bosch unit and a very nice one indeed.

still could be bad, i guess.

unlikely.

anyone have any ideas??[addsig]
