loss of power in 4th and 5th gear.

I have a 95 Rio grande, 145,000 miles just purchased. Twice when driving, acted like it dies when accelerating 4th and 5th. Does have bad 02 sensors, could that cause it to run bad? It is a 4 cylinder.

currently , there is an active thread regarding this very issue with a 4cyl 2.5 engine as well . The threqd is titled " hesitates in 2nd gear and / or sputters in first and second". There will be very informative as well as interesting reading which I believe will be very helpful to you. If you have any questions regarding your jeep or even the afore mentioned thread please make reference and post in this thread . To address multiple members posts in the same thread becomes tedious and can can easily lose sight of the original problem. We like to try to address issues individually but help is welcome. Our goal is to help the member and provide useful text for anyone who may encounter similar problems. Thank you for your membership and hope you will soon correct your jeeps issue .
