so i want to order some powertrax lockright lockers, but as i was reading reviews for them it said i can only run them with up to 33 inch tires. is this true? i have 35 inch tires and was hoping to run these with dana 35 axle

My buddy's Tj had lock right's front and back with 35's. Long story short, rear locker went bye bye. Fronts still going.

so i probably shouldn't run these onmine? haha. any suggestions on what would be a good fit?

I'm not a big fan of the Dana 35. Seen to many problems. I would think a selectable locker would be ideal. Then the axle wouldn't be under constant stress. But They are pricey.

I like the ox locker. It's got a simple design. Less problems and you get that cool little shifter. Lol

i have an aussie up front and a ford 9" in the rear with a detroit i've been very happy with the aussie and there affordable too. i'm only running 33's though if your going to spend good money on a locker and your running a dana 35 do yourself a favor and ditch the 35

Running 33s. A fellow jeeper is running some on 37s and his rig is never below 4500 rpms

With a Dana 35 ?

rocky road outfitters makes a heavy duty axle kit that you can get with a lockright locker. anyone know anything about these or even the super 35 kit. which seems like it's pretty much the same thinng as rocky roads heavy duty axle kit but for like half the price

Another vote for the Aussie here...

Have one in a D30 w/ 36" Swampers. Best $280 I ever spent. Strongly recommend. On the street it has yet to show up or impact my driving (mines a toy and not a DD). I have a friend running a Spartan on 36" as well with excellent results.

Never met a lockright I couldn't brake. Last one lasted 3 rides. I ran Aussies in my old axles and broke a few shafts but lockers held up great. Spartan is also a good choice. Both Aussie and Spartan are larger than lockrights and don't list tire size requirements and their springs last longer than a year. Unless you're set on the 35 don't lock it with tires that big because you will break it. Find a 97 and newer 8.25 and you'll be a lot better off.
