I have a 1991 yj with 4banger and a posi lok cable. Was wondering if anyone has any opinions on locker options for front and rear. Only running 31 's but do a far bit of mud riding
What's your budget? Wouldn't put a pricy locker in your Dana 35 . You keep your Dana 35 put a cheap lunchbox in it or upgrade to a 8.8 rear. I run a Spartan lunchbox in my front and rebuilt My LSD in my rear witch functions almost the same as alocker. This is a budget type of way to lock up front and rear. The best lockers out there i believe is a arb air locker or Eaton e lockers. They are pricy and wouldn't invest in a locker like those with stock axles. So it's about how much you want to spend
You had good luck out spartan? Your 8.8 swap did you have to do a 2 inch lift also to keep bind out of drivetrain. Seen people talking about the 8.8 having a longer pinion length than dana
I use to run a asuie up front and ended up braking one of the pins I choose Spartan because of the larger titanium pins. The Spartan is quiet and hands down my favorite lunchbox ausie is good too but I beat my Jeep pretty good and bigger pins makes me feel like it will hold together longer had the Spartan up Front for alittle over a year no issues. IM not sure about the 8.8 binding because when I swapped mine in I had about 10" of lift. you could always put in a Shorty sye that might fix that issue. Not sure if you have ever drove with a lunchbox in your rear axle it takes alittle getting use to.
I can relate when my wife was pregnant I sold my street bike and dirt bike to by a none stock Jeep yj ( to save gas lol). after the first time I took it hunting and messed around in a few small, mud holes I began modifying it. a few years my Jeep is barley street legal haha. Know I got six of my Buddys to catch the Jeep bug and we just started a club
