Leak in fuel line

Hey all

Just wondering if anyone's had this problem before. I put it gas. The gas leaks from the fuel line. Once it gets into the gas tank, it is fine but it drips constantly in the fuel line. Anyone ever had this? Seems like I just need to goto a mechanic (I have a friend who does labor for free) unless anyone has some suggestions.

Thanks

Where exactly is it leaking? Because on the top of jeeps fuel tanks is a gasket type thing that dry rots. Mine was leaking from there so I changed it out and TADA no leak

Well, if it is leaking where you are pumping the gas, then you may need to put the nozzle in a little more. If you happen to have those tail light protectors like I do, then it will be a little hard to do, but you can still do it. If is is coming out of the corner of the body under the gas cap where the black cover is at, then the hose that lets the fuel in may be torn , cracked or, the clamp may be loose.

My Jeep is leaking gas from a line or maybe even the gasket like bryanjeep. I haven't had a chance to actually get the tank down, but my pelimentary inspection revealed a lot of problems with the fuel system already. There are several lines that are severely cracked (eg at the fuel filter) and two of the lines that come from the tank are pinched, so I'm sure that can't be good. Tomorrow I will be sure to get up early and get that fixed. The funny thing is that the dealer repaired a broken fuel line at 6,000 already, so this should not happen. Apparently they pinched the lines when they installed the tank back. Oh well, I'll just have to deal with it. -Al
