Man, I had a great day yesterday. Sold my jeep to a friends son back in November, he had just gotten out of the Marines after 16 years of service and was looking for a jeep, and I was hard up for cash.So I sold it to him. Couldnt have been a better person to sell it to.
Anyway ,he needed some work done to it and called on me,Hell yeah no problem, dont even have to pay me thats my baby there. Just let me cut loss with it once in a great while, and we'll be cool.
Replaced the hydraulic master cylinder for the clutch with his dad and we had about 3 hrs before he got off work. Yup, time to play.
Nothing heavy duty, just a drive into the mountains. It just made my spirit soar. Told his dad ,just one last pose, here it is. Brings a tear to my eye, saying good bye.

Long time ago, I sold a car that I absolutely loved (1967 mustang fastback) to one of my coworkers...... Biggest mistake there. Everyday I used to get out of work and see " my car" in the parking lot. I still had a set ok keys......... I will never do that again. I will never sell a car to someone that I know or lives in my town......

I know bro, ya fall in love with a damn machine. But its you, describes who you are, what your all about. your spirit and soul . God bless, I'll regroup.

I dont plan on ever having a last pose with My Jeep. I may buy another one but hopefully keep my first one.

x2... gennybro at least you know it has a good home

Reminds me of my first jeep. Was a full custom, it was a commando frame and drivetrain with a 45 Willis body. My dad and a couple of his friends built it. They stretched the body to fit the frame and they did a good job doing it. Looked like it came from the factory. My dad gave it to me in high school. That thing was unstoppable. Then I messed up in school and my dad took it back and sold it. Totally my fault, I was young and foolish. About a month later we had a major storm come thrue. 24" of rain in 24 hrs. When the storm passed I went Fourwheelin with my friend in his truck up in the mountains. When we passed over a gulch I noticed something red in the gulch. I told him to stop and went to check it out. It was my old jeep. The guy who brought it lived a little ways up the road and the flood waters took the jeep with it. Now all that's left is a Polaroid picture of the jeep with my dad standing next to it. :(

dang, that sucks

i have a story like that with my first mustang, a 65 that i got in high school. planned on keeping it forever but i left it with ym parents to watch for me while i was in the military. they watched it but never washed it. of course, living 3 minutes from the ocean caused it to rust out all down the fenders and around the rain gutters. i sold it but regretted it because of the motor and trans. three months later the kid that bought it wrapped it around a big old texas oak tree

It always amazes me how attached to a machine we can get. Shoot, I get a hard time remembering what I did yesterday but I can remember everything I did to that jeep 26 years later. Lol
