I'm new, got PM form banned person

Got my first pm, and it seems to be from another newcomer, with 0 posts, under the name, it says banned. Is this normal?

Teach me to read fast... title should read 'from, not form' and I can't figure out how to edit it. Sorry for any confusion.

Someone was probably 'phishing' on the site. Was it from stephanie? If so, I rec'd the same one.

As a rule, I will ask if it ok to pm someone. I think it is a little rude just to go ahead and pm someone, especially if is unwarranted.

I got a PM from one of the members here saying that Stephanie was sending out spam. I took a look, and he / she was sending out private messages as fast as they could be typed, so he / she got the boot.
