Identifying a 4speed

A guy stopped me as I was Jeepin' thru a parking lot and was asking me about CJ7 parts. Said he needed a clutch pedal setup, his was worn out and wouldn't adjust right. He said he had a 4speed but wasn't sure what it was. He said reverse was over to the left and forward, anybody know what trans this might be?

My first guess is a Borg-warner SR4. They were used in 1980 & 81 mostly with the "iron Duke" 4 cyl although I think some came behind 6cyls. The SR4 is considered worse than weak. Novak doesn't make an adapter for the SR4 because of it's poor reputation.
There may be other 4 speeds with the reverse up & to the left but I don't know of any.
