I didn't even know I had driveline vibrations

I'm doing some work on my Jeep, and removed the rear driveshaft to have a new one cut down to size. While waiting for that I took my (now front wheel drive) Jeep out for a spin, and it drives like a new Jeep!

I've got 2.5 inches of suspension lift, and had no idea that there were any driveline vibrations. I noticed my CB antenna wagging back and forth, and could feel a slight shimmy on the highway, but never really thought about it. Now, without the rear driveshaft in, you can really feel the difference - no vibes at all.

So, if you can feel any slight shake, try pulling your rear driveshaft out and go for a spin - you may need to address some driveline angles.

cool. i have some but its from alignment, not drive line angles. or from tires, i am not sure but i know its not from drive line angles, ha ha ha. no lift

I thought my slight shake was from tires out of balance. I was really surprised to find that I had driveline vibrations - even with just a 2.5" lift.

I had one that you could only feel at 75mph and above that kept getting worse until youncould barely drive the jeep. Turned out to be a busted u-joint...

Terry, just a heads up. I would look into the speed you can safely travel in 4x4 with your tcase. I know with the dana 20 and 18 tcases they say do not go over 45mph engaged, (can damage the case) wasnt desinged for high speed driving. I know you are only using the front end but the tcase is still engaged isnt it. You have a much more up to date jeep so the tcases my be fine nowa days to drive at higher speeds IDK, just thought I mention it.
