Hey Everyone

Weylyn

Well, thought after poking my nose around and lurching in the shadows, I should introduce myself. I am Weylyn. Originally from Arizona and now in Missouri. I drive trucks for a living but when home, I tinker, cuss, swear and have been known for throwing a few wrenches at my beloved 1973 Jeep CJ5. I do not believe in hard off roading (no rock climbing for me) as my jeep is also my wheels while at home. Could never say what the darn theng is worth as I have had it a number of years and my brother had it before that. Its not a bad jeep though, no major rust, still has its God given 6 popper and a 3 speed transmission. only has 67k original miles and has been great for running in the desert and now around some of the hill in Missouri. The AM radio finally gave up the ghost, the heater does not work any more (found out that the hard way, Missouri gets cold). Still have the original soft top for it. Took it out last year for the 1st time. Dad said it was folded up in 73 , put in a box and never looked at again. It fell apart, lol. So I guess you can say the Jeep has been around the family for a while. It had a roll cage but I hit my knee on it so had is a great word for it. I will post some pics from Missouri soon enough. Any, hope to get to know everybody soon enough

Nice Jeep!
Do you keep that in a garage? If I had it outside in Virginia, it would be a pile of rust in no time.

My first Jeep was an 80 CJ5

normally its kept in the Garage, this year its outside due to another project I am working on. I hope to put it back though when I get home so its dry and safe.

kinda sounds like me with the flatie got put it out in snow so can work on liberty droped valve seat busted lifter and a big hole in piston , never get a break my poor jeep hasnt seen water in 6 years

atleast yours sounds like a project you rather be doing, I always get the major break downs in winter never fails when all snow hits lol
and warranty went out bout 6 months ago what luck during the holidays

Jeep is stuck outside cause the kids took the place in the garage, So I moved it down to the shop. Parked it next to the project car, a 1967 VW BAJA. Then the unfortunate happened. The shelter for the horse went away.. Sadly, I have a neighbor who believes that the horse needs a barn. After many discussions with local animal protection, it was decided that the jeep was to be moved outside, the horse was to be moved inside (VW has bare metal) and I can figure things out later. But the jeep is started daily, my kids rolled (on wheels) it down the hill (tree stopped them, no damage to Jeep) and when I get home, the Jeep will be moved back into the garage. (thanks tree)
