help! yj rear sag.

The rear of my 95 yj is saging about two inches. The springs are fine they are 2.5 procomps and im spring over. I beleve the cause of the sag is all the weight I have.in the rear. Custom bumper with swingaway tire carrier 35” and atached tool box and spare gas tank. Also the hi lift bolted to rear bumper. Hard top on and a full tank of gas it sags 2” in the rear. Would add aleaf fix this problem? what about finding a stiffer spring at the pick and pull and adding it to my pack?. any suggestions would be great. Im pretty mechanically inclined. Thanks

i think either of htose ideas would work fine

As said above either will work, but add-a-leafs will make the ride stiffer and flex less. I would do as the above suggested and get a front set for 6cyl. I dont think they add an extra leaf to them, but the spring rate is stiffer. With the lift you have and being sprung over, I bet you have had, or are having to deal with major spring wrap in the rear. This may have caused your fatigue spring, although all the weight you mention is alot.

You should be able to add a full-length add-a-leaf without making the ride any more stiff. Look for a pair of used 2.5" wide spring packs and use the top leaf from each pack, or the top two leaves from one pack.

Thanks guys im going to go bountys way and find me some used 2.5 springs and add them to my current, pack. Surprisingly I have vary little axle wrap. I just did the SOA last month and have only beat on it a few time.( first time I broke my brand new CV shaft when I came down in a rock.....just my luck) I have been keeping a eye on it because im sure there will be more wrap once everything settles in. I will fab something up when the issue arises.

An AAL will help combat axlewrap. If it's minimal now, it'll likely be non-existent once you assemble the ******* pack.

You may also look to retailers for a full-length AAL kit that advertises 3" lift and see if it's an affordable option.

i bought an add a leaf for a number of trucks i have owned over the years, from the local auto parts place. i always liked the heavier rougher ride of pick up trucks and i towed trailers alot when i was younger but the softer suspension on the 90+ trucks let the rear end really drop when you put a heavy trailer on and i really hated that. i would buy the full length add a leafs from autozone and put those in and it really helped a lot. i have thought about putting them in the back of the jeep because i tow with this also and sometimes the trailer makes me ride low rider style

Ya I dont want to add anymore lift. Im pretty high right now. SOA, 2.5 springs, 2 bl on 35x13.5 toyos mts and wheelin on 36x 12.5 swampers/ creepy crawlers

Ya your right. It dose need to go up only in the rear about two inches. What kind of add a leaf should I use? my springs are pro comp 2.5 lift. Do I have to use ones that only go with a 2.5 spring or are they univeral?

People use anything when they do add a leafs
