Can anybody recommend a good 4" lift kit (for a TJ) for under 1000$?

If you cant, can you tell the what I should look for in a 4" lift?
(I.E. drop pitman arm? control arm? t case lowering bracket?)

Thanx in advance

Under a grand huh...nothing like making it tough lol
What exactly is the lift for....you said good, and I don't want to recomeng something that will give you a year or two before crashing to earth. With lifts as well as everything in life, you get what you pay for. There are several "classes" of lifts, each one more expensive than the next, and all geared for diffrent applications.

Soooooooooo, the long of saying
what are you gonna do with the Jeep ?

Check out the Rough Country kit for wheelin on a budget, many jeepers in our club have it and they perform well. The lift height does not sag over time.

One thing to keep in mind about ANY lift in some states is bumper height.
I know in PA the max height for the front bumpers on a Jeep is 24 ".

http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/067/chapter175/s175.78.html

What this says, is unless your Jeep is EXTREMLY heavy, 2 feet is the max height that the bottom of your front bumper can from the surface of the road. 26" for the rear (Hitch recievers DO NOT count as a bumper).

Keep in mind that this is OEM bumpers...those drop bars that you weld on are not considered a bumper.

I know for a fact the with my 3" BDS lift and my 33" tires I'm over the limit at 25 3/4 inches (just measured).

Does this mean that I'll be getting pulled over everytime I take the Jeep for a run ? Most likly not, but if someone wants to bust stones they could.

Just food for thought.
