Heater Core

So the weather got cold this week and we used the heater for the first time in a while. Strong smell of antifreeze inside but nothing leaking on the floor (yet). I did some looking online...do I really have to pull the entire dash off to get to the heater core???

'97 TJ, 4-banger, no A/C.

Look for coolant leak on the drain tube coming out of the firewall. And yes, the Instrument panel must be removed to access the HVAC housing to service the heater core. We can probbably walk you through the process if you decide to do it.

Any recommendations on what brand of Stop Leak to put in it for now?

none, why clog the rest of the system , find leak fix be done ,why band-aid now to cause more issues later IMO
