Heater control

Been working on the dash of my YJ.
I removed the heater control to clean out the dirt dobbers and there is a switch on the top that activates when you move the lever.
Anyone know what at switch does?

i think it is for reusing inside air rather than outside air

i beleave it open the blower circuit. when it,s in vent position
