Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend.

Don't forget to take a moment to consider the men and women that made all of this possible.

X2 both military and the police officers

(AZ just lost an officer with two small children to an idiot that can't play by the rules)

HERE,HERE. Chicago just lost a young Police officer that did 2 tours in Iraq. He came home & bought a new motorcycle...as he his parents house left his parents house 4 thugs tried to rob the bike from him...he was shot & killed. His father
killed one of the thugs & wounded the second....the police caught the other two.
Sorry for the long windedness....the story just upsets me.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY & HONOR TO THOSE WHO HAVE FALLEN IN SERVICE TO THIER COUNTRY AND/OR COMMUNITY

Trivia . . .

May 30, 1868 was the FIRST time Memorial Day was observed but was called "Decoration Day" It was started by a Civil War general named John Logan, commander in chief of the Grand Army of the Republic. May 30th was chosen for TWO specific reasons; 1. because there were no major battles of the Civil War held on May 30. 2. Because it would be probable that flowers would be in bloom to adorn gravesites with flowers. It was held as a beginning to the healing process and reunification after the horrific Civil War.
